Commission Signs Proclamations

April is Child Abuse Awareness Month and Sexual Assault Awareness Month. A proclamation was read by Family Resource Network Director Deanna Palmer, who was assisted by Weston Mayor Julia Spelsburg, Krista Adkins, Terri Flint, Sgt. Michael Cayton, Deputy Charlie Kirkpatrick, Sherry Rogers, Barb Tucker, and Sarah Crum.
The Sexual Assault proclamation was read by commission president Pat Boyle.
County Adminstrator Cindy Whetsell was sworn in by Boyle to serve on the Region VII Planning and Development Council. Frank Lydon’s resignation from the Lewis County Fire Board was accepted, effective Feb. 8.
Commissioners accepted Debra Hull’s resignation as Deputy Clerk. Current Assistant Chief Tax Deputy Crystal Revis will be moving into the clerk’s office April 16. Sheriff Adam Gissy has requested posting the vacancy that will be left by Revis.
Tax collections were up for the month of March, and are still coming in. Approximately seventy percent of tax revenue goes to the board of education.
The courthouse will be lit in blue this week in honor of Autism Awareness Month. The commission will meet again Monday, March 10 at 10 a.m.
