A Jane Lew woman finds herself in the Central Regional Jail after being arrested for child abuse on Monday, Sept. 11, by members of the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department.
Billie Jo Lowther, 38, of Jane Lew, was arrested and charged with child abuse, resulting in injury.
According to the criminal complaint, deputies with the LCSD responded to a domestic disturbance in Jane Lew.
After arriving one of the officers made contact with the alleged victim, a juvenile relative, who claimed they had been struck in the face by Lowther. She allegedly hit him in the face with a sandal approximately four times.” The compliant also states that the officer observed a bruise on the victims face. The alleged victim’s account was corroborated by a witness. Lowther was then arrested processed and transported to Central Regional Jail, where she is being held on a $50,000 surety cash bond.
In a separate incident, John T. Bonham III, 21, of Hinton, West Virginia, was arrested on Sunday, Sept. 17, and charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana following a traffic stop.
The criminal complaint states that Bonham was stopped by a WV State Trooper for an expired registration, the officer issued Bonham with a warning citation.
The officer spotted a plastic baggie in Bonham’s left front shirt pocket that appeared to contain a green substance, the complaint alleges.
A search of the vehicle netted two additional bags of “a leafy green substance believed to be marijuana,” and a black digital scale. Bonham was then arrested and transported to jail.
