Charles Timothy “Tim” Beckner, 54, of Virginia Avenue, Weston, passed away at 4:50 p.m., on Friday, September 1, 2017, in the comfort of his home, with family by his side.
He was born in Upshur County on May 9, 1963, a son of the late Betty June Beckner Riffle.
He is survived by his stepfather, Paul James Riffle, of Smithers, WV; two children: Tiffany Renee Beckner and companion, Scott Boley, of Weston, and Tyler James Beckner and wife, Taylor, of Weston; two grandchildren: Tenly Weaver and Madilynn Beckner; three siblings: Mary Sue Alkire and husband, Lloyd, of Weston, Tammy Rosenberger and companion, Joe Lipare of Smithers, and James Riffle of Smithers; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one sister, Sandra Kay Alkire.
Tim was self-employed, providing skilled services in carpentry, roofing, tree trimming and general construction. He was a loving son, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend whose trademark characteristic was his quiet, reserved demeanor and generous, giving nature. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and he was Methodist by faith.
Friends and family gathered at the Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service, at 144 Hackers Creek Rd., in Jane Lew, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., on Monday, September 4, 2017. Funeral Services followed at 1 p.m., at the Pat Boyle Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Mark Anderson officiating. Interment followed in the Mount Union Cemetery in Buckhannon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at the funeral home to assist the family with final expenses.
