Charles “Chuck” Ritchie Ledbetter


Charles “Chuck” Ritchie Ledbetter, 66, of Hazelgreen Road, in Smithville, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 5, 2018, at the Summa Health Systems Hospital in Akron, Ohio, following a medical emergency.
He was born in Bluefield, Virginia, on July 24, 1951, a son of the late Ritchie Ledbetter and Ola Clementine Roten Ledbetter.
He is survived by his wife, Annette Yeager Ledbetter of Smithville; three children: Rita Ann Ledbetter of Belpre, OH, Lisa Sprouse and husband, Nick, of Alum Bridge, and Christal Ledbetter of Clarksburg; two stepchildren: Tina Self and husband, Kenny, of Coxs Mills, and Joseph Yeager and wife, Miranda, of Coxs Mills; two grandchildren: Summer Sprouse, and Christopher Ledbetter; two step-grandchildren: Matthew and Brian Self, and Olivya and Wyatt Yeager; two siblings: Patty
Ledbetter of Bluefield, and Beverly McWilliam and husband, Al, of Lewisville, OH; one nephew, Michael McWilliam and wife, Jennifer, of Medina; and one niece, Trista Frelick and husband, Adam, of Abbs Valley, VA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Janie Marie Ledbetter.
Chuck was an honored veteran of the United States Marine Corps., then was employed as a rubber worker for Goodyear Tire Company, where they produced racing tires, and he retired with 23 years of service. In his free time he enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, and socializing with his friends.
Friends and family gathered to reminisce and share stories at the Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service, at 144 Hackers Creek Rd., in Jane Lew, from 5-6 p.m., on Tuesday, April 10, 2018. Funeral Services followed at 6 p.m., at the Pat Boyle Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Wease Day officiating. Following the funeral, Chuck’s request for cremation was honored.
