MountainHeart Community Services, Inc. at 4 Harman Center in Grafton, West Virginia celebrated “Read Across America” by giving away Lorax Halos and Dr. Seuss’s books. The staff also decorated the lobby and front windows of their office building.
The TRAILS staff, Brenda Epperley and Cheryl Wolfe traveled to Lewis county to make a visit to Linda Roy and Darlene Davis on March 3, 2017. Brenda read The Cat in The Hatand Lorax Halos were given to the children. The childcare providers were presented with a Dr. Seuss’s book for her home childcare business.
Dr. Seuss epitomizes a love of children and learning. Also, his use of rhyme makes his books an effective tool for teaching young children the basic skills they need to be successful. When we celebrate Dr. Seuss and reading, we send a clear message to America’s children that reading is fun and important.
