Carl L. Butcher, 74, a resident of Lagrange, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at his home, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Carl was born on July 12, 1943, in Weston, West Virginia. LaGrange was his home for 30 years.
Carl was an Elyria High School graduate, with the Class of 1961. He was employed as a crane operator/welder fabricator with Span Master in Avon Lake and Rankin Manufacturing in New London. He was an avid car enthusiast who enjoyed building collector cars. He loved attending car shows.
He enjoyed gardening and the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Carl loved his dog Tootsie.
The focus of his life was his family, especially his children, grandchildren and Sally.
He is survived by his companion of 28 years, Sally Buchanon of LaGrange; sons Carl W. (Randi) Butcher of Lagrange and Jason Buchanan of Vermilion; grandchildren Elizabeth (fiance Brett Surdock) Butcher, Kylie Buchanan and Austin Rhoades.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Danny and Rodney Butcher and his parents, Robert and Alma Butcher.
Friends called on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018, at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland St., Elyria, from 9 a.m., until the time of the funeral services at 11 a.m., at the funeral home. The burial followed in Brookdale Cemetery.
