Arlene M. Burkhart Hickman, 82, of Zanesville, died at 1:50 a.m., Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at Cedar Hill Care Center, Zanesville. She was born July 5, 1935, in Ireland, WV, a daughter of the late Fred Morgan and Mabel Lowther Mealey. After graduating from high school, she worked for the FBI, Custom Coil, and Akro Corporation, and was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Red Hat Society.
Surviving are two children, Robert Michael (Pam) Burkhart and V. Marea (Dean) Griffith; three step-children, Billy Hickman, Neal (Ellen) Hickman, and Bonita (George) Barth; four grandchildren, Doug (Abby) Burkhart, Amanda (Jake) Richards, Adam (Liz) Siddle and Dorothy (David) Dice; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Judy Ramsey; a sister-in-law, Pat (Dan) Maxwell; a special sister-in-law, Linnette Mealey; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Burkhart, second husband, Kenneth Hickman; a brother, Robert Mealey; and a loving brother-in-law, Rev. Lonnie Ramsey.
A Cremation With Care and Memorial Service has taken place and an internment will take place at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Zanesville at a later date.
